Who are Abbey Legal Services?
This is a question that is often asked and the standard response is something along the lines of
“We are a family run business specialising in Will Writing, Lasting Powers of Attorney & Estate Planning who pride ourselves in offering a friendly, competitive and fuss-free service.”
While that all sounds great and may be enough for some people, what most people really want to know is,
“Can I trust you?”
Now that is a very different question with a very different answer. So here goes!
Some of the main reasons we believe you can trust us are:
- We started writing Wills in 2008 and have now prepared in excess of 5,000 Wills for our customers.
- Many of our customers have used us more than once, and will often refer us to their friends & family.
- Our Will Writer, Andrew Mills, is a member of the Society of Will Writers, and has been since 2008.
- We have Professional Indemnity insurance of £2.5 million for each Will that we prepare.
- We offer a no-obligation home visit at a time to suit you, including evenings and weekends.
Additionally, we have included copies of our legal and professional certificates below, along with a brief description for each, that will hopefully help to reassure you that you can put your faith in us.

Society of Will Writers Membership
Our Will Writer, Andrew Mills, is a member of the Society of Will Writers (SWW) and in order to maintain his membership he must achieve a minimum level of Continuing Professional Development each year and must adhere to the SWW Code of Conduct.

Professional Indemnity Insurance
It is a further requirement of the Society of Will Writers that all members hold Professional Indemnity Insurance in respect of their Will writing activities.
In order to meet this requirement we have purchased the SWW’s recommended Professional Indemnity Insurance policy arranged through Jelf Insurance Partnership. The policy provides us with cover of £2.5 million for each Will that we prepare.
Data Protection Registration
As we collect and process our customer’s personal data we are subject to the rules of the Data Protection Act 2018, which are the UK’s version of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
One of the requirements is that we register as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and you can check our registration details on the ICO website.
